SYR EL DANNIEH
Syr El Dannieh enjoys a pleasant geographical situation 27 Km from Tripoli, with a healthy climate as it is 900 to 1000m above sea level, and is almost unique in the Middle East for its abundance of waterfalls, fountains and springs.
Syr village, the center for some forty villages, is surrounded by the mountains of Al Zawye, Al Menyeh, Baalbeck El Hermel, Aakkar, and Becharre, where from Syr hikers reach the Cedars in six hours by way of Lebanon's highest peak, Qornet El Saouda.
Popularly known as Syr (pronounced " Seer"), this resort can be easily reached from Tripoli. Half of its citizens have emigrated all over the world, particularly to Australia, the United States of America , and Arab Countries.
Syr El Dannieh is famous for being a well-known as a tourist village, well provided with restaurants, hotels and tourist facilities. It is also reputed for its agricultural products, particularly its delicious fruit.
